In western food culture sponge cake is a representative dessert, this kind of cake has always been loved by people. Today in china there are several variants like with dates or brown sugar even with durian. Sponge cake tastes soft and not too over sweet, so it it suitable for all seasons and every event. Ingredients

  • 5 Fresh eggs
  • 120g Low gluten flour
  • 70g white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 30g Cooking oil
  • 2 tbsp Water

Instructions

Put all the ingredients together, eggs, low-gluten flour, white sugar, cooking oil

Separate the egg white from the egg yolk

Add 20 grams of white sugar  to the egg yolk and 50 grams of white sugar to the white

Whip with the white with an electric hand mixer

Stir the egg yolk with the white sugar, then add the water, cooking oil and continue to stir

Add one-third of the white to the yolk and mix gently.

Stir until smooth and free of the white particles. Pour all the egg yolk into two-thirds of the white and stir gently until there is no grain

Add the sieved low-gluten flour into the mixture ,the batter is thoroughly blended with a spatula until there is no dry powder. Preheat the oven around 140 degrees

Pour the batter into an eight-inch cake mold and shake off the bubbles on the table. Once the oven is ready, place the mold in the oven at 140 degrees, bake for 60 minutes, and take out to cool
