Chinese beef Shank Recipe
The Chinese beef shank is commonly used as an appetizer in the big events like new year's eve or autumn festival. This dish is served with a sauce that is a mix of garlic, soy sauce and vinegar. In China is usually served in hot days because this plate is eaten cold. Reserve this recipe for hot summers because it's cold, convenient, super delicious and also healthy because this cut of beef low in fat and high in protein.
Prepare the meat for the whole process. We prepared a big chunk of meet because this process is quite long so we will not waste any effort for a small piece of this beef shank
Time to put the meat in the pot and add the appropriate amount of spices: pepper, star anise, cumin, salt, sugar, Soy sauce and wine
Boil the meat with all the spices in it, you can add more spices according to your own taste, don't forget to add more water if you are planning to, simmer for 50 minutes
There are several spices that you can add, but we wanted to keep simple and easy because some spice is not so easy to find even in some Asian shops
Once you simmered the meat, take out the all of it and put it on a refrigerator, let it rest for a day at least, once the waiting is over the meat is ready to be sliced
